About NEDO

Education for all and sharing knowledge as the shade of the light is the philosophy of NEDO
Nepal Educational Development Organization (NEDO) aims to help Nepalese disadvantaged children to attend the school by financial supporting program. As a part of fostering educational development activities at the higher education NEDO has also established a scholarship scheme to financially weak but diligent students with higher aims.
NEDO is a non profit, non-governmental organization established in the year 1990 by Nepalese and Japanese. NEDO’s goal is to develop educational and cultural exchange activities between Japan and Nepal. NEDO also manages seminars relating to education, culture, environment, sustainable development, technology transfer inviting distinguished lecturers.

Objective

NEDO also vows to develop Scholarship Scheme for university students to foster the leaders for government, corporations and social development.

Management

NEDO Japan is headed by its founding director Professor Dr. Manoj Shrestha. NEDO’s executive committee consisting several directors take responsibility for their projects. NEDO conducts its general meeting every year in May or June.
Running Projects NEDO has been granting scholarship to 70 students in various schools every year. It has also been distributing books to various schools to enrich their libraries. This year NEDO has granted scholarship to visually impaired and physically disabled students.

NEDO ‘s source of income

Membership fee, donation and income generating activities like seminars, Nepali products Bazar introducing Nepal’s unique natural products and handicrafts are the main source of income for NEDO.
NEDO Annual Report: NEDO publishes its annual report in June every year.
